Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an IMC position requiring 2 years of experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

• Work in the Intermediate Care (IMC) unit of a hospital environment
• Cardiac telemetry and stepdown patient population
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license currently in hand at time of submittal
• Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, port access and management, blood product administration, central line and peripheral line care, and PICC line management
• Experience with ventilator patient care, chest tube management, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, and tracheostomy care preferred
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and rapid response/code team involvement
• Experience with IV insulin protocols and insulin drip titration preferred
• Experience with ortho trauma and total joint replacement care preferred

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry and stepdown level nursing care including cardiac monitoring, respiratory support, and wound care management
• Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties will not be considered
• Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
• Former staff members must wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of requested time off (RTO) will be auto-approved, and RTO is not permitted during the first week of orientation
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of consideration
