Who we are looking for The role holder will lead the management of the Investor Anti-Money Laundering and FATCA/CRS Team in Toronto. This team is part of the Investor Services Department and works with a global client base. The incumbent will provide strategic oversight, client management, and technical and operational leadership to ensure AML/FATCA/CRS processes meet policies, procedures, and best‑in‑class service standards. Summary of Key Functions Client‑facing support during onsite due diligence visits, sales pitches and regulatory inspections Client servicing – board reports, client visits and presentations Oversight of new/ongoing investor populations to ensure timely reviews by case managers Routine client reporting – AML logs, board reporting of unauthorized or aged investors Client queries and escalations – point of contact for assigned clients Board call attendance/support for assigned clients High‑risk outreach – handling of PEP and other high‑risk cases Assurance letter and board letter requests Due diligence questionnaires and due diligence calls Periodic review tracking and assignment Final review and QA of appointed client/group priority files MLRO servicing – reporting, meetings, DDQs, sampling, board reporting and attendance What you will be responsible for Managing and developing strong client relationships on behalf of the Investor Services AML/FATCA/CRS Team Ensuring day‑to‑day service delivery meets or exceeds client expectations and coordinating development initiatives Resolving complex operational and customer complaints referred by clients and case managers Maintaining a strong control environment and accountability for team controls Demonstrating deep knowledge of relevant AML legislation and global AML policies (Cayman, Singapore, Ireland/UK, Luxembourg, United States) Developing and implementing procedures to meet internal controls, compliance and regulatory requirements Providing regular liaison with senior management on processes, client information and transparent communication Attending State Street meetings and contributing to operational, client, risk and AML audits Participating in departmental projects that drive continuous improvement and efficiency Conducting regular meetings with case managers and offering developmental opportunities for direct reports Monitoring task timeliness for direct reports and supporting case managers Managing operational effectiveness of client assignments, ensuring adherence to key controls and policies Signing off on errors and implementing controls to prevent recurrence Escalating service creep issues to senior levels; prioritising projects in line with senior management strategy Note: no responsibility for department‑wide resource allocation or budgetary control Education & Preferred Qualifications Degree in Finance and/or Business‑related area (minimum 2.2) or relevant work experience ACAMS certification or other AML qualification (benefit) Minimum 2 years finance or fund administration experience, preferably in an Investor Services/Transfer Agency department Strong understanding of AML/FATCA/CRS legislation and global practices (Cayman, Singapore, Ireland/UK, Luxembourg, United States) Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel Ability to work to tight deadlines, multitask and remain calm under pressure Experience in client relationship management essential Good knowledge of AML and industry regulations Benefits Employees are eligible to participate in State Street’s comprehensive benefits program, which includes a retirement savings plan (401K) with company match; insurance coverage (basic life, medical, dental, vision, long‑term disability); paid time off (vacation, sick leave, short‑term disability, family care responsibilities); Employee Assistance Program; incentive compensation (annual performance‑based awards); and eligibility for certain tax‑advantaged savings plans.
