Quality Control SpecialistESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following description of work to be performed by this individual is not intended to be all-inclusive. Rather, it focuses on the major tasks that must be accomplished.Ensure that safety is always the number one priority at Alexandria Industries; promote and support a safe work environment and safety-oriented culture by following all safety programs and guidelinesWork with Set-up employees, Applications Specialists, Die Shop, and Toolmakers to develop processes with SPC and verify data to assure part quality during set-up and production runsCarefully determine daily conformance of parts to customer specifications using inspection tools, blueprints, control plans, and SPC dataWork closely with operations employees to retrieve data to improve processes and proceduresAudit the quality system in the extrusion, fabrication, and machining areas to verify complianceCommunicate with supervisors, operators, managers, and other departments as required regarding product quality issuesDownload data, print charts, verify data, and approve product for shipmentDevelop and utilize accurate, user-friendly programs to help verify product to meet customer quality requirements as neededWork to shorten all QC checks using SPC as basis, to minimize equipment downtimeMaintain proper records of test resultsTrain operators in use of measurement system and equipment, including capabilities of different measurement equipment typesProvide data analysis and management for the department including long-term performance studies and capability studies using AEC's measurement systems and proceduresTake appropriate measures to improve quality levelsAssist in maintaining and operating calibration systemKeep work area clean and orderly using 5S (standardize, sustain, sort, set in order and shine)MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent degree. Associates degree in Machine Tool Technology or related program preferred2. Experience: 3+ years of machining production experience3. Other required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC). Ability to establish quality assurance (QC) practices. Strong computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Ability to recognize safety concerns. Ability to utilize the proper inspection and measurement equipment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong coordination, judgment, and project management skills. Basic math skills. Strong blueprint reading skills with a good understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). Knowledge and understanding of CMM operation.
