To address these challenges, we employ intelligent and committed staff who take care of our customers' success as if it is their own.ResponsibilitiesObtains patient history and patient family historyPerforms quality control checks and operator maintenance for a variety of patient care equipmentAssists in identifying patient needs and implementing the plan of careDocuments care given and patient response in the medical recordPrepares patient for physical examinationCarries out prescribed nurse initiated, nurse practitioner, and physician orders and documents in patient medical recordCommunicates pertinent patient data to the appropriate providerPossesses knowledge of actions and usual dosages of most commonly used emergency drugs and their locationRecognizes emergency situations and initiates appropriate resuscitative measuresAssists in patient/family education regarding prescribed medications/therapies/diagnostic proceduresAssesses patient/family knowledge level, implements plan of instructions, and records patient/family demonstrated level of understandingEnsures content and correctness of a prepared reports and signs documents to validate contentParticipates in monitoring quality of care according to professional standards and established proceduresResponds to telephone inquiries regarding ward services and/or follow-up ancillary reportsAssists with ward related administrative tasksAdministers oxygen, intravenous fluids, and prescribed medications in accordance with VA policyDemonstrates sensitivity to cultural diversity, race, gender, and other individual differences in the workforce, in the Veteran population, and in the communityOther duties as assignedQualificationsPossesses a valid, current license (with no limitations, stipulations, or pending adverse actions) to practice nursing as an LVN and be licensed to practice in the State of California; all licenses must be unencumbered and remain in effect during the time they are providing services under the contractHas been actively practicing as an LPN for at least one year within the past three yearsIs capable of providing nursing care for adult medical and surgical patientsHas and maintains current BLS certificationHas documented training and skills verificationNo sponsorship availablePay Range: $30.00 - $40.00 hourlyAll candidates must be able to:Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shiftLift up to 50 lbs from floor to waistLift up to 20 lbsCarry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distancePush/pull with 30 lbs of forceAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
