Facility Operations – IUB (BL-PHYP-IUBLA) Capital Planning and Facilities (CPF) works to ensure that IU campuses are beautiful, functional, and sustainable, supporting excellence in teaching, learning, research, and community engagement across the entire university. A unit within CPF, Facility Operations, maintains our physical campus to support research, teaching, and learning at Indiana University Bloomington. Within Facility Operations, services are aimed at creating a well-functioning campus. Responsibilities Maintain swimming pool water quality by testing weekly and cleaning pool components, water purification systems, outdoor fountains, water filters using hose, vacuum, and power washer. Test water quality in pools and water systems using a water test kit; add chemicals to feeders as needed; clean outdoor fountains and strainers; vacuum and drain pools when necessary. Education High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., HSED or GED). Work Experience At least 2 years of large‑scale water maintenance system experience. Licenses & Certificates Valid driver’s license and ability to be insured by Indiana University upon hire. Ability to acquire and maintain a Certified Pool Operator (CPO) license within 90 days of hire. Required Skills Work safely and efficiently. Proficient communication skills. Physical Requirements This role requires the ability to remain in a stationary position as well as move about the workplace for long periods, operate machinery, tools, and controls, ascend/descend ladders and stairs, work at low level positions, detect chemicals/gases, ascend to rooftops, and move in tight spaces to complete inspections.
