Sr. Grant Writer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. Grant Writer based in the United States. The Senior Grant Writer will join a growing development team and play a key role in advancing a national workforce development organization’s fundraising efforts. You will lead the development of compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and reports for prospective and existing funders. The role offers significant exposure to six- and seven-figure funding opportunities and requires close collaboration across development, program, finance, and administrative teams. You will translate complex programs, community needs, and measurable outcomes into concise and persuasive funding narratives. Strong organization and deadline management will be essential as you coordinate multiple submissions and reporting requirements. Accountabilities: - Collaborate with the Grants Manager and Development team to develop, write, and submit letters of inquiry, grant proposals, and funder reports within established deadlines. - Manage proposal and reporting documentation through the organization’s CRM while maintaining accurate records and tracking all relevant deadlines. - Partner with program, finance, and administrative teams to collect the data, financial information, program details, and supporting materials required for proposals and reports. - Update and refine grant narratives to accurately reflect community needs, program offerings, target populations, and intended outcomes. - Incorporate program data, research, and supporting evidence into funding requests to strengthen their clarity, relevance, and impact. - Support broader fundraising initiatives and development activities as needed. - Manage multiple grant opportunities simultaneously while maintaining high standards of accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery. - Contribute to the continued development and effectiveness of grant-writing processes within a rapidly growing fundraising environment.

Requirements - 5+ years of experience in government, foundation, and/or corporate grant writing. - Demonstrated success securing six-figure or larger grant awards. - Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to communicate complex programs and concepts in concise, compelling language. - Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, deadlines, and workflow pacing. - Proven ability to incorporate program data, research, and supporting evidence into persuasive grant applications and reports. - Knowledge of fundraising information sources, research tools, and grant development practices. - Fundraising experience in workforce development, programs supporting opportunity youth and young adults, veterans, and/or military-connected communities is strongly preferred. - Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and execute effectively while also responding to clear direction from leadership. - Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. - Experience with Salesforce or another nonprofit CRM/database is preferred. - Bachelor’s degree required. - Strong interpersonal and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to gather information effectively from program, finance, administrative, and development stakeholders. Benefits - Annual salary range of $76,000–$92,000 USD . - Fully remote position within the United States. - Location-based compensation, with the final salary determined according to the candidate’s geographic location. - Opportunity to work on significant six- and seven-figure grant opportunities.
