Registered Nurse – Intermediate Care (IMC/PCU/Stepdown)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract (13 Weeks) | Full-Time | Onsite | 12-Hour Day Shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM | Every other weekend and every other holiday required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 36-bed Med Surg Intermediate Care unit with a heavy telemetry focus and a 4:1 patient ratio
• Manage a high-acuity patient population including stable and weaning ventilator/trach patients, sepsis, trauma, alcohol detox, GI bleed, TBI, ortho trauma, spinal cord injury, and stroke
• Administer and monitor insulin drips and manage colostomy/ileostomy, chest tubes, and primary patient assignments
• Float to higher-acuity inpatient units facility-wide as needed
• Operate independently in a fast-paced environment, completing tasks efficiently while adapting to census-driven schedule adjustments
• Comply with all facility infection control policies, including masking requirements during flu season if vaccination is declined

Required Qualifications

• Active Wisconsin RN License
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• ACLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience — firm requirement
• Stepdown, Intermediate Care, or PCU experience required
• Ventilator and trach experience required
• At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ICU experience preferred
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Experience with EPIC electronic health records preferred
