As a contract Social Worker, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting students’ well-being and fostering positive development throughout the academic year. This full-time assignment runs from August 25 to June 18, offering the chance to engage with a diverse group of elementary-aged students and collaborate with an energetic school community.

Key Qualifications:

• Current SSW approval through the Michigan Department of Education (MDE)
• Certified school social worker in Michigan
• Proven experience working as a social worker in school settings, preferably at the elementary level
• Strong ability to manage a caseload of 50-60 students with flexibility for a higher number if needed
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct and indirect support to students facing academic, social, emotional, or behavioral challenges
• Conduct assessments, develop intervention strategies, and facilitate crisis management when required
• Collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary staff to ensure each student receives tailored support
• Advocate for students’ needs and refer them to appropriate community resources as necessary
• Maintain thorough records and prepare reports in compliance with school district and state requirements

This role offers a consistent weekly schedule of 37.5 hours, allowing you to engage fully with your students and colleagues while contributing to a positive, nurturing school culture.
