The Maintenance Technician I (Age 18+) is responsible for maintaining the Camp-Resort's facilities, structures, and utilities, keeping them operable and in top condition. This is a seasonal, full-time or part-time position and reports to the Maintenance Supervisor. Maintenance Technician I is the entry-level class in the Maintenance Technician series. Under close supervision, entry-level duties are assigned in the installation, modification, design, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment and facilities at the Resort.Duties & ResponsibilitiesGeneral Duties:Monitor and maintain the condition of the Camp-Resort's property, facilities, and equipmentRespond to maintenance requests promptlyAssist in planning and executing projects from start to finishTroubleshoot and perform a variety of entry-level duties under close supervision in the areas of:Basic repair/maintenance of doorknobs, locks, hinges, and gates, as requiredCarpentryDrywall and painting communal areas and exterior wallsElectrical (including lamps, cosmetic items, extension cords, vacuum cleaners, internet devices, replace electrical switches and outlets, and other guestroom items)Plumbing (e.g., repairing and unclogging toilets, sinks, bathtubs, showers, and exterior drains)Administrative Duties:Regularly update Maintenance Supervisor on the status of repairs, preventative maintenance, and other projectsMaintains the necessary service records on mechanical and structural systemsEnsure all standard operating procedures are followed for park operation while performing maintenance tasks.Other Essential Duties:Comply with local, state, and federal safety regulations and proceduresParticipate in other projects and activities as assignedEducation/Training/Experience1-3 years of consistent and professional work experience in a variety of tradesTrade certifications and licenses are highly desiredQualifications/RequirementsBasic computer skillsExcellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skillsStrong attention to detail, speed, and accuracyAbility to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environmentStrong work ethic and a positive attitudeRequired to work nights, weekends, and holidaysWork with minimal supervisionMaintain a positive work environment by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, vendors, coworkers, and managementValid driver's licenseEssential Physical DemandsAble to lift up to 80 lbsMust be able to remain in a stationary positionRegularly move throughout the parkContinuously climb, balance, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, and crawlAble to manipulate fingers, hands, and arms to reach, carry, lift, etc.Constant exposure to outside weather conditionsNorthgate provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
