Staff Pharmacist – 3rd Shift (7 On / 7 Off)

Location: Lubbock, TX 79407
Schedule: 3rd shift, 9:00 PM – 8:00 AM
Work Rotation: 7 days on / 7 days off
Lunch: 1-hour lunch break
License Requirement: Active pharmacist license issued by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy

Position Overview

We are seeking a licensed Staff Pharmacist to support pharmacy operations during the overnight shift. The ideal candidate will ensure the safe and accurate dispensing of medications, provide medication counseling, maintain regulatory compliance, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to support quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Review, verify, prepare, and dispense prescription medications accurately and safely.
• Ensure medications are appropriate for patients and comply with applicable laws and regulations.
• Monitor medication adherence, potential overuse, drug interactions, and other medication-related concerns.
• Counsel patients on prescription and over-the-counter medications, including dosage, administration, storage, side effects, and potential interactions.
• Maintain accurate, confidential patient records and pharmacy documentation.
• Identify medication-related problems and communicate recommendations to physicians and other healthcare providers.
• Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions in accordance with established procedures, as applicable.
• Supervise and support pharmacy technicians, clerks, and other pharmacy staff.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels of medications and pharmacy supplies.
• Provide patient education on medical devices, including blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
• Support patient care services, including blood pressure monitoring, cholesterol management, and smoking cessation, as applicable.
• Collaborate with pharmacists, pharmacy interns, nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain compliance with pharmacy policies, professional standards, and state and federal regulations.

Qualifications

• Active pharmacist license issued by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
• Strong knowledge of medication safety, prescription processing, and pharmacy regulations.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a healthcare team.
• Previous pharmacy experience preferred.

Work Schedule

• Overnight shift: 9:00 PM – 8:00 AM.
• Seven days on, followed by seven consecutive days off.
• One-hour lunch break.
