Collections Specialist
Location: Schaumburg, IL (On-Site)
Assignment Type: 3-month contract with potential for contract-to-hire
Compensation: $28.00 - $32.00 / Per Hour depending on relevant experience

Job Responsibilities:
- Monitor accounts receivable to identify overdue accounts and follow up with customers regarding payment status.
- Contact customers via phone, email, or written correspondence to collect outstanding balances.
- Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies, short payments, and disputes in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with sales, billing, and customer service teams to address issues impacting collections.
- Maintain accurate records of all collection activities and customer communications.
- Prepare and analyze aging reports to track collection efforts and trends.
- Recommend accounts for escalation, legal action, or write-off as appropriate.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable laws governing debt collection.
- Assist in developing and implementing strategies to improve cash flow and reduce bad debt.
Requirements:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP's, SUM-IFS)
- 2+ years of experience in collections/accounts receivable,
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
