Delivers high-quality, patient-centered services to support overall oral health and wellness. Performs related duties as needed to ensure excellent care and clinical outcomes.Duties and Responsibilities:Examines, diagnosis, treats and prescribes medications to patients of the ClinicAbility to administer local anestheticAbility to administer nitrous oxide when indicatedProvides dental services including (when equipped);Preventative dental services, i.e. prophylaxis, scaling and root planning, fluoride treatment, varnishes and/or sealants, radiographic procedures, educating patientsOperative dentistry, i.e. fillings and crownsPediatric dental servicesOral surgery, i.e. simple to moderately complex extractionsEndodontics on selected cases determined by professional judgement and if clinic becomes equipped to offer endodontic proceduresEmergency dental careReferring any patients that present to the clinic with needed treatment that is outside the scope of individual general dentists' expertise.Maintains dental records for each patient in accordance with the Clinic's policies and procedures.Provides inpatient dental services within his/her scope of training and ability.Review radiological and medical reports and incorporates findings into plan of careDetection and diagnosis of dental diseases including but not limited to decay, periodontal disease, abscesses and broken/fractured teeth.Manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drugs and oxygen supply and directory of emergency numbers.Detects disease by completing oral cancer screening.Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection control policies and protocols.Ensures operation of dental equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements.Conserves dental resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.Skills:Ability to work as a team member and to maintain positive work environment and represent the clinic and staff in a positive manner.Ability to work with patients of all races, gender, age and socioeconomic status.Excellent verbal and written communication.Ability to perform duties to standard of care.Ability to use Dental Technology.Physical Demands:Physical Abilities:Stand FrequentlyWalk FrequentlySit FrequentlyHandling/Fingering ConstantlyReach Outward OccasionallyReach above Shoulder OccasionallyClimb OccasionallyBend FrequentlyPush Pull:12 lbs or less Frequently13-25 lbs Occasionally26-40 lbs Not Applicable41-100 lbs Not ApplicableLift Carry:10 lbs or less Constantly11-20 lbs Occasionally21-50 lbs Occasionally51-100 lbs OccasionallyOver 100 lbs Not Applicable
