Quality Engineer

I’m currently partnering with a leading precision manufacturing organization that supplies highly engineered components into the aerospace, defense, medical device, industrial and commercial markets. Following continued growth and investment, the business is looking to appoint an experienced Quality Engineer to support quality assurance, process improvement and compliance activity at its Bethel, CT manufacturing facility. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on Quality Engineer who enjoys working closely with manufacturing, engineering, tooling, program management and customers to improve product quality, reduce variation and drive continuous improvement across a technically demanding production environment. Responsibilities Support and maintain compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, customer‑specific requirements and applicable regulatory standards. Lead and support internal, customer and third‑party quality audits, including preparation, execution and corrective action follow‑up. Drive root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action activities relating to customer complaints, internal nonconformances, supplier issues and process failures. Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering and Tooling teams to improve deep draw and metal forming processes. Support initiatives focused on reducing scrap, improving yield and enhancing process capability. Review, develop and approve inspection plans, control plans, work instructions and quality documentation. Support First Article Inspection activity in accordance with AS9102 requirements. Participate in New Product Introduction, process validation and production readiness activities. Analyze quality metrics, trends and performance data to identify risks and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Support supplier quality activity, including supplier corrective actions, qualification efforts and incoming inspection controls. Develop and maintain quality procedures, standards and inspection methodologies. Ensure customer drawings, specifications and technical requirements are effectively translated into manufacturing and inspection controls. Collaborate cross‑functionally to support customer satisfaction, on‑time delivery and operational excellence. What we’re looking for Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing or a related technical field, or equivalent experience. 3 to 6+ years of Quality Engineering experience within aerospace, defense, medical device or another regulated manufacturing environment. Experience supporting manufacturing operations and production quality systems. Working knowledge of AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems. Experience leading or supporting root cause investigations and corrective action programs. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments. Hands‑on approach with a strong presence on the manufacturing floor. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T would be advantageous. Experience with FAI, AS9102, statistical analysis, process capability studies, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma would be beneficial. Experience with deep draw manufacturing, metal forming, stamping, machining or precision manufacturing processes would be highly relevant. Why consider this opportunity?
