Job Title: Development Associate

Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid)

Assignment Type: Contract (5–6 months)

Pay: $22 – $25 / Hour (commensurate with experience)

Work Schedule: 37.5 hours/week | Monday–Friday | Standard business hours

About The Company: Our client is a mission-driven nonprofit focused on driving real community impact. Their work centers on fundraising, donor engagement, and outreach initiatives, and they're looking for a Development Associate to help strengthen team operations and donor relationships.

Job Description: This role supports the fundraising team across donor recordkeeping, outreach coordination, event support, and general development functions. It's a great fit for someone with some nonprofit background looking to build out their skills in donor relations and fundraising strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support donor-facing communications, including campaign messaging, emails, and acknowledgment letters
• Help coordinate stewardship activities, including mailing schedules and outreach timing
• Research prospective donors and potential funding sources
• Keep donor records current and accurate within CRM platforms (Salesforce preferred)
• Monitor donations, pledges, and giving patterns over time
• Pull reports and assist with data analysis to inform fundraising decisions
• Support logistics planning for donor meetings and events
• Put together donor-facing materials like packets, decks, and proposals
• Proofread and refine outgoing donor communications

Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree preferred, not required
• 2–5 years of experience in fundraising, donor support, or nonprofit development work
• Comfortable with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); CRM experience required, Salesforce preferred
• Exposure to online giving platforms a plus; iCIMS experience preferred
• Strong time management and ability to juggle multiple priorities
• Strong written and verbal communicator
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and collaborative
