ResponsibilitiesScrub and circulate cases for multiple specialties in a fast-paced outpatient setting. Nursing responsibilities are assigned under the clinical supervision of a nursing supervisorCoordinate and provide care for a multi-specialty surgical population, including pediatric and adult populationsPerform patient transfers as neededAbility to lift and carry twenty-five (25) poundsAbility to wear lead for surgical proceduresAbility to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, twist, and bend for extended periodsAbility to reach, push, and pull frequently throughout duration of shiftWork collaboratively to prepare rooms between casesParticipate in problem solving efforts for the department, on-going QA activities, new employee orientation, and student educationCollaborate with BCSC Operating Room and PACU team for patient careExpectationsDemonstrated critical thinking skills through use of the nursing process, excellent problem-solving skills, and demonstrated ability to set priorities.Demonstrated customer service, interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to build respectful relationships within and between units and individuals.Demonstrated accountability and dependability including good attendance record with punctuality.Demonstrated adaptability to changing needs and priorities based on unit, department, and institutional goals/objectives.Proficiency with typing and electronic health record documentation.Ability to manage complex clinical issues utilizing assessment skills, protocols, and evidence-based interventions.Required QualificationsCurrent licensure as a Registered Nurse to practice in the State of MichiganTwo (2) years or more of RN experienceFive (5) years or more of recent (within the last two (2) years) Operating Room experienceRecent (within the last year) scrubbing and circulating expertise in two (2) or more of the following services, including complex procedures: Plastics (i.e. combo case with immediate reconstruction, abdominoplasty, etc.) Orthopedics (i.e. total joint arthroplasty, arthroscopy, etc.) and Urology (i.e. microvascular procedures, implant procedures, etc.)In order to be considered for this position the applicant must have met or will have met all the required qualifications prior to the start date of employment.RESUME REQUIRED (for Both Internal & External Applicants)You must attach a complete and accurate resume to be fully considered for this position.
