Exciting Opportunity for a Registered Nurse - MS Ortho!

Job Description:


- Position: Registered Nurse MS - Ortho
- Shift: Day 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:30)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Experience Required: Minimum 1 year experience in Medsurg Ortho, MS/Tele experience preferred

Key Responsibilities:


- Provide excellent patient care on a Medsurg Ortho Floor
- Float as necessary to MS/Tele Floors based on patient needs
- Pass the EKG exam to ensure competency
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for improved patient outcomes

Scheduling Details and Expectations:


- Charting System: 1 year of EPIC experience required
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Call Off Policy: Facility can call off 1 shift every 2 weeks

Required Certifications:


- BLS certification

Clinical Skills:


- Medsurg work setting experience
- Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency Response
- IV Therapy/Phlebotomy skills
- Colostomy and feeding tube care
- Management of patients with spinal cord injuries and traumatic brain injuries
- Experience with orthopedic trauma and joint replacements
- Knowledge of respiratory care including chest tubes and oxygen administration

Unit Details:


- Patient Ratios: 1:5
- Patient Population: Orthopedic trauma and general medical-surgical overflow
- Floating Policy: Required to float to other units or campuses as needed, limited to qualified areas
