Senior Manager, Service Engineering

Role Summary We are evolving our Service Management team to move beyond support and operations. As a Senior Engineer in service management, you will have full ownership of the availability, performance, and scalability of one of the most critical services at LSEG. What You will be Doing: Support Managers maintain Service Level Objectives for the systems they own; constantly measuring and improving availability, latency, and overall system health is integral. Write automation to scale systems sustainably, prevent service issues, and recover quickly when they occur. Partner with development teams to improve system reliability, observability, and release velocity. Participate in on‑call rotations, incident response, post‑mortems, and root‑cause analysis and resolution. Advocate strong engineering practices that enable scalable, reliable, and performant services. Act as an enabler for cloud migration, working with foundation and migration teams from inception, performing architectural reviews, operational acceptability testing, and configuring Datadog dashboards and metrics. Engage in continuous learning and development. What You will Bring: A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Experience with scripting languages such as Shell or Python. Experience maintaining Infrastructure as Code with Terraform. Hands‑on experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP. Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes. Experience with observability tools like Datadog or Dynatrace. Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines. Incident response and blameless post‑mortems experience. Proficiency in Git workflows. Tools used in the role include Datadog and BigPanda for observability, Terraform for cloud infrastructure, and EntraID for IAM. You are encouraged to bring experience with any relevant tools. Preferred Qualifications: Minimum 8–10 years of industry experience. Experience with DevOps concepts and practices. Experience with algorithms and data structures. Understanding of identity and access management and application security. Native Azure relational database experience. Compensation & Benefits Information: LSEG offers competitive compensation with an anticipated base salary of $114,200 – $190,400, depending on location and level.
