Position Summary

We are seeking a dynamic, visionary, and experienced Insurance Company President to provide executive leadership and strategic direction for our organization. The successful candidate will bring extensive expertise in insurance operations, underwriting, claims management, regulatory compliance, financial performance, and reinsurance placement.

This executive leader will be responsible for driving sustainable growth, enhancing operational excellence, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a high-performing culture throughout the organization. The President will work closely with the Board of Directors, executive leadership team, regulators, agents, brokers, reinsurers, and other key stakeholders to achieve the company's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute the company's strategic vision, long-term goals, and growth initiatives.
  • Identify new business opportunities, market expansion strategies, and revenue-generating initiatives.
  • Monitor industry trends, emerging risks, and competitive developments to position the organization for continued success.

Operational Oversight

  • Provide executive oversight of all insurance operations, including:
  • Underwriting
  • Claims Administration
  • Customer Service
  • Risk Management
  • Compliance
  • Finance and Accounting
  • Drive operational excellence through process improvements, innovation, and technology adoption.
  • Establish performance metrics and accountability measures across all departments.

Financial Management

  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and profitability initiatives.
  • Oversee capital management and financial performance to ensure long-term organizational stability.
  • Analyze financial and operational data to support strategic decision-making and risk management.

Reinsurance & Risk Strategy

  • Develop and oversee the company's reinsurance strategy.
  • Lead negotiations and placement of reinsurance programs to optimize risk exposure and financial protection.
  • Collaborate with actuarial and risk management teams to evaluate portfolio performance and risk appetite.

Regulatory Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and industry regulations.
  • Maintain strong relationships with insurance regulators and governing bodies.
  • Promote a culture of ethical conduct, transparency, and corporate governance.

Stakeholder Relations

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with:
  • Insurance agents and brokers
  • Reinsurance partners
  • Regulators
  • Investors
  • Industry associations
  • Community leaders
  • Serve as the public face of the organization within the insurance industry and community.

Leadership & Culture

  • Lead, mentor, and develop senior leadership teams.
  • Foster a culture of integrity, accountability, collaboration, diversity, and professional growth.
  • Promote employee engagement, succession planning, and leadership development initiatives.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive executive leadership experience within the insurance industry.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of:
  • Insurance operations
  • Underwriting
  • Claims management
  • Reinsurance placement
  • Regulatory compliance
  • Risk management
  • Demonstrated success leading organizational growth and profitability.
  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, capital management, and financial analysis.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proven ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and changing market conditions.
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and decision-making capabilities.

Preferred

  • MBA, CPCU, ARM, or other advanced insurance or business credentials.
  • Experience leading a multi-state insurance operation.
  • Background in property & casualty, specialty lines, or captive insurance management.
