POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a skilled Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating brakes, shears, drills, and ironworkers to fabricate metal components with precision and efficiency. This role requires a strong understanding of metalworking techniques, attention to detail, and a commitment to producing high-quality products in a safe and organized work environment. DUTIES & RESOINSIBILITES:

• Operate Machinery : Proficiently use brakes, shears, drills, and ironworkers to cut, shape, punch, and form metal components according to specifications.
• Read and Interpret Blueprints : Accurately interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to ensure fabricated parts meet design requirements.
• Material Preparation : Measure, mark, and prepare raw materials (e.g., steel, aluminum, or other metals) for fabrication processes.
• Quality Control : Inspect fabricated parts for accuracy and quality, ensuring compliance with tolerances and specifications.
• Equipment Maintenance : Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on fabrication equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Safety Compliance : Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe operation of machinery.
• Collaboration : Work closely with team members, including welders, assemblers, and supervisors, to meet project deadlines and maintain workflow efficiency.
• Inventory Management : Assist in tracking and organizing raw materials and finished components to support production schedules.
• Other duties as assigned by the area supervisor.

EXPERIENCE :

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a fabricator, with demonstrated proficiency in operating brakes, shears, drills, and ironworkers.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

• Technical Skills : Strong understanding of metal fabrication techniques, including cutting, bending, drilling, and punching.
• Blueprint Reading : Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
• Physical Requirements : Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Certifications : Forklift certification or OSHA safety training is a plus.
• Soft Skills : Detail-oriented, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Adhere to all company policies.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This position is in a general shop and sometimes outside, and it has access to all welfare facilities. In some cases, the temperature can be warmer or colder depending on the season. Most of the hazards come from machines but following proper procedures should minimize risk. This position will be exposed to the elements and will have to prepare themselves with the right equipment to ensure safety.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position requires standing and walking for the majority of the shift. During shifts, some projects require the use of feet, hands, and fingers for over 60 minutes at a time. Depending on the season, different protective apparel will be required. The use of knees, legs, back, shoulders, and arms can vary from 15 minutes to 60 minutes. This position requires reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling to complete job tasks. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, ability to adjust focus, and good depth perception. All positions require the ability to lift 50 pounds.
