Elementary Education Teacher Position #312142 Starting Date: Aug 4, 2026 Job Description Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an approved education program in the relevant subject area. North Carolina teaching license. Nature of Work: Plan, instruct, and organize instructional environments that facilitate learning of subject matter and skills contributing to students’ educational and social development. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Constantly monitor the safety and well‑being of students, especially during inclusive activities. Motivate students effectively. Maintain a clean, orderly environment. Perform general clerical duties. Enforce order and discipline in the classroom. Operate common office machines. Maintain basic files and records. Understand and follow oral and written instructions. Establish and maintain effective working relationships as required by assignments. Essential Job Functions: Prepare materials, supplies, and equipment for each lesson or activity; start class promptly; keep students engaged and on task. Set rules and procedures covering routine administration, student verbal participation, classroom movement, and transitions; monitor behavior continuously during all activities; address inappropriate behavior promptly while maintaining student dignity. Begin each lesson with a review of prior material, introduce objectives, and present content clearly; provide relevant examples and demonstrations; assign tasks students are likely to succeed on; ask appropriate questions; conduct activity at a brisk pace, slowing only when necessary for understanding; manage smooth transitions between lessons and activities; summarize main points at lesson’s end. Maintain clear, firm, and reasonable work standards and deadlines; circulate during class work to assess performance; routinely use oral, written, and other work products to check progress; pose questions clearly and one at a time. Provide feedback on correctness or errors in in‑class work to encourage growth; give prompt feedback on assigned out‑of‑class work; affirm correct oral responses and offer sustaining feedback after incorrect responses by probing, repeating, giving clues, or allowing more time. Develop instructional plans aligned with school and systemwide curricular goals; use diagnostic information from assessments to adjust objectives and tasks; maintain accurate records of student performance; align objectives, learning strategies, assessment, and student needs appropriately; use human and material resources to support instruction. Treat all students fairly and equitably; interact effectively with students, coworkers, parents, and the community. Perform assigned non‑instructional duties; adhere to laws, policies, rules, and regulations; follow a professional development plan and demonstrate growth.
