Assets Protection Specialist

The starting pay range for this position per hour is $26.75 - $28.75. The full pay range for this position per hour is $26.75 - $45.50. Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position, including labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications. Use surveillance and intelligence‑led tactics to protect the store, prevent theft, and reduce shortages. Monitor guests using Target’s video surveillance system and identify potential theft risks. Implement Assets Protection practices and routines to reduce and prevent shortages. Document cases properly and effectively. Identify strategic resolutions of external theft and fraud, and apprehend suspects when appropriate. Resolve theft incidents by using good judgment and following AP policies and procedures. Identify theft trends through technology, reporting, and surveillance tactics. Respond to security incidents and submit appropriate documentation per AP policy. Promote a physical security and safety culture by creating awareness, training staff, and maintaining positive relations with public safety officials and law enforcement. Participate in legal proceedings as necessary to represent Target’s interests. All other duties as required by business needs. Qualifications Minimum 18 years of age or older. High school diploma or equivalent. Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position. Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping times. Strong communication skills and ability to use multiple-frequency devices, handheld scanners, and other technology equipment. Ability to work independently and with a team. Capability to manage workload, prioritize tasks, and remain focused in a fast-paced environment. Physical ability to climb ladders, lift up to 40 pounds, and remain mobile throughout the shift. Experience handling and moving merchandise efficiently and safely. Ability to remain composed, focused, and respectful in a demanding role. Open to working in varying temperatures, humidity, and weather conditions.
