Kennel Assistant

The Kennel Assistant ensures the everyday needs of boarding patients are met in both the hospital and boarding facility. Assistant must arrive on time and ready for each shift; schedules vary based on the needs of the kennel and include every day of the week. Feed hospitalized and boarding animals as needed and requested Follow special feeding/cleaning/care procedures as needed and requested Clean cages and runs in all areas of the kennel and hospital Provide clean litter boxes for feline patients Exercise animals (canines receive a minimum of ten minutes three times a day) Complete laundry for the boarding and hospital areas Record and report information about animal's condition on kennel card Maintain kennel inventory Take animals to appropriate areas in the hospital when needed Maintain storage areas Maintain outside walks, yard, and parking lot Maintain food prep areas Wash, dry, and put away dishes for both hospital and boarding areas Complete daily cleaning as outlined in cleaning check‑off sheet Understand and maintain kennel ventilation system Clean air vents on a daily basis Keep garbage area clean at all times Check in food deliveries for kennel use Once signed off by Supervisor: Medicate boarding pets according to their specific medication list Walk “caution” dogs Check off daily and weekly checklist In return, we provide a signing bonus, tuition aid options and free financial counseling.
