Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse (RN) Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 Years of Experience Required License: Active Ohio or Compact RN License Required Certifications: - Active American Heart Association BLS - Active American Heart Association ACLS Must-Have: - Post-operative open heart care experience - Critical Care Experience Highly Preferred - Chest tube and other drain management experience - Pre- and post-procedure care for patients with radial and femoral access - Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, including reading and interpreting cardiac rhythm strips and recognizing changes in cardiac rhythms - Advanced knowledge of cardiac and pulmonary abnormalities - Experience with procedures and equipment including chest tube removal, removal of pericardial pacing wires, management of temporary pacers, and use of non-invasive ventilation devices Description: This position follows a clinical interview process. Candidates can expect outreach within two hours via phone and text where applicable. Decisions are typically made the same day or by the next business day. The Registered Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for the care of assigned patients during the shift. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care using age-specific criteria. Judgments are made based on scientific knowledge and clinical skills. The RN assists in planning, directing, and teaching non-RN staff such as LPN/PCT and Unit Secretaries. The role requires floating to all units within skill level.
