Editorial Assistant

Editorial Assistant, Upper Room Publishing (Non-Exempt), Reports to Executive Director, Upper Room Editions and Executive Director, Upper Room Books

The Editorial Assistant performs a broad range of administrative/technical support, coordinates activities, and projects to promote the mission of Upper Room Editions and Upper Room Books. Provides exceptional care for staff, guests, and customers who engage with our publications. Identifies and implements ways to improve departmental processes to increase efficiency and improve service. Manages communications and financial processes relating to publication of The Upper Room Magazine, Sight Psalms, and Upper Room Blog as well as Upper Room Books.

This position will also correspond with authors, external editors, photographers, and international partners throughout publication and the contract review process. Sends Author Copies to authors and enters submissions into digital asset management system. Communicates with staff and customers through the handling of mail, telephone, and email inquiries to support UR Books and Editions teams. Takes initiative to respond accurately to customer needs or direct questions to appropriate staff. Provides a competent, positive corporate image through all means of communication.

Education / Experience

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience

One to two years of related job experience.
