Under supervision, the Clinical Intern supports patient treatment and care by assisting with daily living activities tailored to individual age and developmental needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care including hygiene assistance such as bathing, hair care, oral hygiene, and grooming.
• Deliver skin care while preventing breakdown and assist with physical activities like repositioning, ambulation, range of motion exercises, and transfers.
• Support nutritional needs by preparing patients for meals, assisting with feeding, monitoring intake, and adhering to dietary restrictions.
• Collect specimens, perform vital signs, and document intake and output accurately.
• Perform specialized care such as sit baths, postmortem care, application of ted hose, ice packs, and wound management.
• Lead and encourage participation in performance improvement initiatives and teamwork.
• Carry out technical nursing procedures within credentialed scope, including oxygen therapy management, catheter insertion/removal, intravenous therapy discontinuation, nasopharyngeal suctioning, dressing changes, and injections.
• Conduct patient assessments and collaborate closely with primary nurses to educate patients and families.
• Maintain thorough and precise documentation of all patient care activities in medical records.

Education:

Currently enrolled in a nursing program or completed nursing education without meeting licensing requirements.

Experience:

Entry-level position; no prior experience required.

Certification/License:

Not applicable.

This role demands significant mental focus and physical activity, including frequent walking, lifting, turning, and other movements.
