ICU Registered Nurse (RN)
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced ICU Registered Nurse to provide exceptional patient care in a cardiovascular intensive care unit (CVI ICU). The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in managing complex cardiovascular cases and demonstrate expertise in critical care settings.
Position Details
- Start Date: As soon as possible
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts
- Unit: ICU-CVICU
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holidays: Required to work on Memorial Day
- Orientation: 8 hours of non-billable orientation
- Floating: May float to various ICUs as needed
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Cardiovascular ICU
- Must pass an EKG test with a score of 80% or above
- Charge experience is preferred
License and Certification Requirements
- Active Illinois nursing license
- CPR certification
- ACLS certification
- NIHSS certification
- Epic experience is required
Required Skills
- Expertise in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Knowledge of multi-system organ failure and thermoregulation
- Experience with CABG, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump, and Impella
- Post cardiac surgery care (not directly from the OR)
- Pre/Post cardiac catheterization intervention
- Proficient in Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring
- Valve Replacement/Repair and LVAD/RVAD management
- Competence in CVVHD/CRRT and IV therapy
- Ability to manage central lines, PICC lines, and blood product administration
- Knowledge of medications including continuous IV paralytics, sedation, and vasoactive drips
- Experience in CVA/acute stroke management and care of ventilated patients
- Skilled in interpretation of ABGs and ventilator management
- Knowledge of infection prevention and isolation precautions
- Experience in performing phlebotomy and caring for surgical wounds
