Build, repair, and fine-tune the machines that keep rail moving

As the shift turns over at our Groveport, OH foundry, you step onto the floor at Amsted Rail–Griffin Wheel, North America’s leader in railroad wheel manufacturing. You’ll walk the line, listen for the subtle hums and vibrations of rotating equipment, and put your precision skills to work so complex mechanical systems run true.

• Installing, aligning, and commissioning heavy industrial machinery across our foundry operations.
• Diagnosing issues through vibration analysis and bringing equipment back into spec.
• Precisely fitting bearings, gears, shafts, motors, and couplings to eliminate strain and extend asset life.
• Reading blueprints and interpreting mechanical/electrical design to plan repairs and builds.
• Welding and fabricating as needed to restore or improve equipment condition.
• Keeping conveyors, carousels, ASRS systems, monorails, and bulk conveying equipment moving smoothly.
• Servicing pumps, valves, and seals for reliable flow control.
• Handling materials safely, leveraging SDS information, and championing safety procedures for yourself and the team.

• Location: Groveport foundry (Amsted Rail–Griffin Wheel)
• Shifts available: Afternoon (3:00 pm–11:00 pm) or Night (11:00 pm–7:00 am)
• Starting pay: $40.04 per hour
• Employment type: Full-time, on-site

• 3–5 years of verifiable industrial maintenance experience in heavy manufacturing or construction environments.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to successfully complete screening and skills tests prior to interviewing.
• Strength in precision alignment, component fitting, welding, blueprint reading, and troubleshooting.
