Continuous Fiber 3D Printing TechnicianContinuous Composites, headquartered in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, is the industry leader of Continuous Fiber 3D Printing (CF3D®). We are developing a novel manufacturing method for carbon fiber composite components, primarily for aerospace customers.Your Role on the TeamWe're seeking an experienced, versatile Technician who excels in manufacturing operations, engineering development, field service support, and quality inspection. You will support day-to-day production, assemble and maintain CF3D® hardware, execute structured test plans, travel to customer sites for system commissioning and service, and contribute to multi-year product development initiatives.Engineering & Manufacturing ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with cross-functional engineering teams (mechanical, materials, software, controls) to execute multi-year development plansMaintain CF3D® hardware and prototype assembliesAssemble and test prototype hardwarePost-process printed samples for analysis and test purposesRun tests with varied process parameters to optimize throughput and part qualityRecord and document test data to drive improvements in the CF3D® processInterface with development teams to integrate materials, process, hardware, and softwareTroubleshoot mechanical, electrical, software, and process issuesSupport production operations including assembly, commissioning, and field service of CF3D® systemsField Service & Customer Support ResponsibilitiesWork alongside the manufacturing team in day-to-day production operationsAssemble complete CF3D® printers and prepare systems for shipment or deploymentPerform startup and commissioning of CF3D® systems in the fieldProvide field service support for existing installationsDiagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, and software issues onsite with customersCollaborate with engineering teams to support system performance and customer needsEscalate risks or technical issues appropriately to ensure timely resolutionQuality Technician CompetenciesApply strong math skills to inspect, measure, and validate dimensional accuracy and process conformityPerform quality control checks across manufacturing and test operationsConduct non-destructive inspection (NDI) on printed components and assembliesUse precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)Experience with CMM or C-scanner systems is a plusDocument inspection findings and drive quality improvementsCollaborate with engineering and production teams to address quality variancesRequired QualificationsMinimum Associate's degree in chemical, materials, electrical, mechanical, or controls engineering, or equivalent experienceMinimum 5 years in a manufacturing, development, production, quality, or field service environmentLow-voltage diagnostics and troubleshooting experienceAbility to interface with cross-functional teams and collaborate with all stakeholdersStrict adherence to test plans and proceduresStrong math proficiency for measurement and inspectionExceptional interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to lift up to 50 lbComputer literacy and strong diagnostic skillsDesired ExperienceFamiliarity with g-codeExperience with 6-axis robotsAdditive manufacturing experienceMechanical fabrication experiencePLC programming and troubleshooting experienceSoldering and electrical wiring experienceLow-voltage wiring and troubleshooting experienceExperience with CMM or C-scanner equipmentExperience with non-destructive inspection methods (ultrasonic, visual, penetrant)Travel RequirementsAbility to travel to customer sites, vendor facilities, and field installations (estimated 20–40%, depending on project load)Ability to work onsite for multi-day commissioning and troubleshooting assignmentsMust maintain eligibility for customer-specific site access, including badging and background requirementsAdditional RequirementsCandidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. and must meet ITAR requirements as a U.S. Person under 22 CFR 120.62.
