Exciting Opportunity for Dedicated Nurses: IMCU Traveler Position

Job Description:


- Shift: Day 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:00)
- Patient Population: Adults to Geriatrics
- Minimum Experience:
- 2 years in nursing (first-time travelers not accepted)
- Prior travel experience is essential
- Patient Care Needs:
- Overflow IMCU
- Arrhythmia management
- Cardioversion
- Care for patients with Cardiac CHF, chest pain, renal issues, pulmonary conditions (COPD, pulmonary edema), PE, and DVT
- Experience with basic arrhythmia management
- Surgical care (cholecystectomy, appy's, chest tubes, biliary drains)
- Management of occasional vascular patients, post-cardiac cath, TR Bands, DKA, and Ortho or CVA patient overflow
- Staffing Ratio: 1:5-6; 32 beds
- Certifications Required:
- BLS
- ACLS
- NIHSS
- Required Skills:
- Accessing/Managing Ports
- BiPAP/CPAP management
- Blood Product Administration
- Cardiac Telemetry
- Central line care/management
- Feeding tube care and management
- Heparin Protocols
- High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
- Interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Manage Vasoactive drips and Cardiac drips (no titration)
- Telemetry management
- Starting and maintaining IVs
- TR Band experience
- Unit Systems: Epic (Preferred), Pyxis, SBAR
- Floating: Yes, within the facility/scope of practice as needed
- Weekend Requirements: Typically every other weekend with maximum 7 days of RTO per contract
- Call Requirements: Rare, response time is 2 hours
- Holidays: Expected to work major holidays if they fall within the assignment period
