Promote, market, and facilitate the overall sale of products of the bank.  Contribute to the bank’s growth by the effective sale of bank services to new and existing customers with emphasis on courteous and professional service.

FLSA STATUS

This position is classified as Non-Exempt under the FLSA.

OVERVIEW:

The Lending Assistant supports assigned commercial lenders throughout the loan life cycle, from application and underwriting support through closing, booking, servicing, and ongoing portfolio administration. The role coordinates information among borrowers, lenders, credit, loan operations, title companies, attorneys, appraisers, insurance agents, and other third parties. The Lending Assistant is expected to manage details and deadlines with a high degree of accuracy, protect confidential information, communicate professionally, and escalate documentation, compliance, or servicing concerns promptly. This position does not independently approve credit or alter approved loan terms.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Following policies and procedures, serves as a primary administrative contact for assigned lenders and provide responsive, professional support to existing and prospective borrowers, and loan processing.

Assist with opening loan requests and assembling complete application packages, including borrower information, entity documents, financial statements, tax returns, rent rolls, project budgets, contracts, and other required due diligence.

Coordinate ordering and receipt of appraisals or evaluations, environmental reports, flood determinations, title commitments, surveys, insurance evidence, lien searches, organizational documents, and other closing or due-diligence items.

Once loan is approved, order necessary loan information to complete each transaction such as: appraisals, title work for real estate loans, business documents, etc.

Assist loan customers with service issues such as payments, auto transfers, interest calculations, insurance reports, address changes, etc.

Assist loan customers with draws on construction projects.

Assist Loan Officers with monitoring of loan maturity and past-due payment reports and contact customers as needed.

Assist Loan Officers with monitoring of loan ticklers/exceptions reports and contact customers for the collection of new/current financial information.

Attend all meetings and complete all training required to ensure regulatory compliance.

Comply with all applicable Federal and State regulations and guidance associated with the performance of your job function.

Comply with all applicable BSA/AML/OFAC policies and procedures associated with the performance of your job function, including participation in required training and identifications of suspicious activity.

Responsible for making suggestions to improve branch/departmental operations and overall bank.

Perform other duties and assignments within the bank at Management’s request; accept periodic cross-training, works in other branches if needed.
