Minimum Qualifications Certified teacher with successful experience as a primary classroom teacher and/or experience as a building teacher–leader or professional development facilitator. Comprehensive understanding of Michigan Curriculum Frameworks Standards and Benchmarks for Early Literacy. Comprehensive understanding of balanced literacy and the six building blocks of literacy. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with staff and parents. Satisfactory completion of interview process. Duties/Responsibilities Serve as literacy mentors/leaders for all staff. Provide intervention to identified students. Develop and present model lessons for classroom teachers. Conduct professional development activities at the district or building level. Assist with the completion of individualized Reading Intervention Plans. Collect assessment data and disseminate results to appropriate staff. Other duties may be assigned.
