Interstate Electronics Company , a leading communications systems integrator since 1964, seeks a Healthcare IT Systems & Integration Specialist for its Chicago location.
Interstate Electronics designs, installs, integrates, and supports a wide range of technology solutions, including audio/visual systems, nurse call and healthcare communications systems, educational communications systems, video surveillance, paging, networking infrastructure, and integrated security systems.
We are seeking an IT professional to support the implementation, configuration, integration, and ongoing operation of our healthcare technology applications.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, administer, and troubleshoot healthcare software applications.
- Configure and support Windows-based application and database servers.
- Support Microsoft SQL Server, VMware, and virtual server environments.
- Troubleshoot TCP/IP networks, VLANs, DNS, firewalls, and network connectivity.
- Work with hospital IT departments on server, network, cybersecurity, and application requirements.
- Support integrations between nurse call and other hospital technology systems.
- Perform software upgrades, system testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Provide remote and onsite technical support to hospital customers.
- Work with manufacturers, vendors, project managers, and field technicians to resolve technical issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Management Information Systems (MIS), Network/Systems Administration, Cybersecurity, or a related IT discipline.
- Minimum of two years of professional IT experience.
- Experience with Windows Server and enterprise software applications.
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking, VLANs, DNS, and firewalls.
- Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server and virtualized server environments.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a technical team.
Preferred Experience
Experience with healthcare IT environments, hospital applications, nurse call systems, Microsoft SQL Server, VMware, Active Directory, HL7 interfaces, networking, and systems integration is highly desirable. Relevant industry certifications, such as CCNA, CCNP, CTS, or other healthcare IT, networking, or systems integration certifications, are highly regarded.
