What You Will Do

• Architect and ship AI-native product experiences serving tens of thousands of users
• Build and deploy sophisticated LLM-powered agents capable of reasoning through complex healthcare workflows
• Develop and improve systems around prompt orchestration, retrieval pipelines, context engineering, and evaluation frameworks
• Build conversational AI systems that help users understand healthcare decisions, treatment plans, and benefits information
• Create proactive engagement systems powered by claims and behavioral data to drive preventative healthcare outcomes
• Design and implement guardrails, red-teaming workflows, and reliability systems for production AI applications
• Own projects end-to-end across backend infrastructure, AI systems, and user-facing product experiences
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, and operations teams in a high-velocity environment
• Continuously iterate on AI system quality, latency, cost efficiency, and member experience

Ideal Background

• Strong experience building and shipping full-stack AI products into production
• Deep proficiency with Python, Postgres, and modern backend engineering practices
• Experience developing production LLM applications, AI agents, or retrieval-augmented systems
• Strong product intuition with experience building 0→1 product experiences in startup environments
• Experience implementing AI safety, evaluation, and reliability systems including guardrails and red-teaming
• Familiarity with prompt orchestration, context engineering, and retrieval system design
• Comfortable owning ambiguous problems end-to-end with strong autonomy and execution speed
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows and engineering tools

Preferred

• Experience with TypeScript and React
• Experience deploying AI workloads on cloud platforms such as AWS
• Prior experience in healthcare, fintech, or other regulated environments
• Familiarity with production evaluation frameworks for LLM systems
• Experience balancing AI performance, latency, reliability, and cost tradeoffs
