Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit with a typical patient ratio of 1:6 on a unit of 20–34 beds
• Monitor and interpret telemetry and cardiac rhythms as part of routine patient assessment
• Float to any Medical Surgical unit as needed based on staffing and census demands
• Complete an 8-hour non-billable orientation period at the start of the assignment
• Adhere to facility scheduling expectations, including availability during designated holiday blocks (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year periods)

Required Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts RN license (must be provided at time of submission)
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification – must be in hand at submission; facility will not pend certifications
• Active American Heart Association ACLS certification – must be in hand at submission; facility will not pend certifications
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification – must be in hand at submission; facility will not pend certifications
• Minimum 2 years of current Medical Surgical experience required
• Telemetry experience required
• Basic Dysrhythmia course completion strongly required
• Willingness to float to any Medical Surgical unit required
• Personal vehicle required for this assignment
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Meditech Expanse electronic health records system highly preferred
• Familiarity with Medical Surgical skills checklists current within the past year
