POSITION OVERVIEW

Job Summary

The Technician is responsible for preparing incoming materials for recycling and processing operations. This includes inspecting, sorting, disassembling, palletizing, and transporting materials throughout the facility. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial environment.

This role also supports facility operations by conducting routine equipment inspections, participating in safety and operational training, documenting processed materials, and maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, sort, separate, and prepare feedstock materials for processing
• Disassemble components using hand and power tools
• Palletize and organize processed materials for storage or shipment
• Move materials safely throughout the facility using approved material-handling equipment
• Inspect materials for contamination and non-conforming items
• Accurately document processing activities and inventory movements
• Assist with loading and unloading shipments
• Operate pallet jacks, forklifts, and other material-handling equipment
• Follow production schedules and help meet operational goals
• Identify and communicate equipment, safety, or quality concerns
• Participate in daily team meetings, training sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Follow all safety, environmental, and operational procedures
• Properly use required PPE and comply with respirator fit-testing requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of related experience
• Materials handling experience
• Forklift operation experience
• Basic equipment troubleshooting skills
• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and industrial safety practices

Physical Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Ability to lift and carry 50-70 pounds regularly
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Comfortable working in warehouse and industrial environments
• Ability to climb on and off forklifts and equipment as needed
• Manual dexterity to operate tools, scanners, and electronic devices
