Receiving Clerk – Export CompanyThe Receiving Clerk is responsible for receiving, inspecting, documenting, and processing incoming products and materials for an export and logistics operation. This position ensures shipments are accurately received, properly recorded, and staged for storage or export processing.Key ResponsibilitiesReceive incoming shipments from vendors, carriers, and suppliers.Verify received products against purchase orders, packing slips, bills of lading, and other shipping documentation.Count and inspect incoming materials for accuracy, damage, shortages, or discrepancies.Record received inventory accurately in the company’s warehouse or inventory management system.Label, tag, and organize received products for proper identification and tracking.Coordinate with warehouse, shipping, purchasing, and export personnel regarding incoming materials.Stage received products in designated warehouse or export preparation areas.Maintain accurate receiving records and supporting documentation.Report damaged, missing, incorrect, or non-conforming products to management.Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation as needed.Communicate with freight carriers and internal departments regarding shipment discrepancies.Maintain an organized and safe receiving area.Follow company procedures for handling products designated for international shipment.Operate pallet jacks, forklifts, or other material-handling equipment as required.Follow all warehouse, safety, and quality-control procedures.QualificationsPrevious receiving, warehouse, shipping, logistics, or distribution experience preferred.Experience working with purchase orders, packing slips, and bills of lading preferred.Basic computer and data-entry skills.Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate inventory records.Ability to communicate effectively with warehouse and office personnel.Forklift experience preferred, if required for the facility.Ability to lift, move, and handle products safely throughout the workday.Work EnvironmentThis position works primarily in a warehouse/export distribution environment and requires regular standing, walking, bending, reaching, and handling of incoming freight. The Receiving Clerk may work around forklifts, palletized freight, trucks, loading docks, and other warehouse equipment.
