Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Job Description

Job Summary:
Providing specialized nursing care for telemetry patients, this role involves monitoring cardiac rhythms and ensuring patient safety. The position requires clinical expertise in telemetry procedures and patient management.

Responsibilities:

• Interpret and analyze cardiac telemetry data to detect arrhythmias and other cardiac events.
• Administer medications, including IV medications such as Lasix, heparin, metoprolol, diltiazem, and insulin, following physician orders.
• Perform head-to-toe assessments and monitor patient vital signs regularly.
• Maintain documentation in the Altera/Allscripts Sunrise system accurately and promptly.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team during daily multidisciplinary rounds to promote patient care excellence.
• Handle wound care, drain management, and other postoperative procedures as needed.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active RN license in the state of practice.
• Possess at least 2 years of relevant clinical experience in Medical-Surgical and telemetry nursing.
• Demonstrate proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation and telemetry equipment.
• Have current BLS certification.
• Be knowledgeable in IV medication administration and central line management.
• Exhibit strong assessment skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
