Job Description
Title
ED Holding Support - Float Pool

Schedule
- Shift: NIGHT only
- Hours: 36 hours/week
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend

Assignment Details
- Contract length: 13 weeks

Requirements
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience
- NC or Compact license pending is acceptable for submittal
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
- Clinical skills:
- MS/Tele and telemetry monitoring (on-unit and remote)
- Dysrhythmia interpretation & management
- Airway/oxygen support: CPAP/BiPAP, HFNC, non-invasive airway management, oxygen devices, oral suctioning
- Tracheostomy care, chest tube management
- Vascular access: peripheral IV/PICC care, phlebotomy, blood product administration
- Feeding tube and colostomy care
- Management of renal failure, insulin/heparin protocols, ABG interpretation
- Preferred skills (not required): NIHSS, IV insulin protocols, dialysis pre/post care, port access, starting IVs, neuro/CVA experience, ortho trauma, wound care/Wound VAC

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to adult patients in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment.
- Assist in monitoring and managing patients in an inpatient holding area waiting for an inpatient bed.
- Administer medications, perform treatments, and document patient care accurately.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Respond to emergency situations and participate in rapid response teams when necessary.

Compliance / Notes
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- Must be available to work during catastrophic events/storm/hurricane team assignments; may be required to work major holidays.
