Job Full Description Job Title: Cook / Culinary Specialist Location: Guthrie, OK Pay Rate: $17.50 - $21.00 per hour (Depending on Experience) Job Type: Full-time (Multiple Shift Options) Shift Hours: Flexible coverage needed between 5:00 AM and 11:00 PM Position Overview We are seeking reliable, skilled Cooks and Culinary Specialists to join a local dining and food service team in Guthrie. In this role, you will play a vital part in preparing balanced, high-quality meals in a structured facility environment. Positions cover a broad spectrum of kitchen responsibilities-ranging from fundamental food prep and station assembly to full scratch-cooking and high-volume meal execution. Whether you are looking to build upon foundational kitchen skills or bring seasoned culinary experience to a steady environment, we have multiple shifts available to fit your schedule. - Prepare meals across various operational levels, including basic prep work (chopping, slicing, portioning) and scratch-cooking main entrées, sides, and baked goods.
- Operate standard commercial kitchen equipment safely and efficiently (griddles, ovens, fryers, steam kettles, slicers).
- Follow standardized recipes, portion controls, and meal plans to ensure consistency and quality.
- Maintain clean, organized prep and cooking areas in compliance with food safety and sanitation standards (HACCP / local health codes).
- Assist with inventory receiving, proper food storage (labeling, dating, rotation), and restocking line stations.
- Support kitchen setup, service line maintenance, and end-of-shift cleanup and sanitation procedures.
- Experience: Prior culinary or commercial food service experience preferred (pay rate determined by level of prep/cooking experience).
- Knowledge: Working understanding of food handling safety, proper cooking temperatures, and kitchen equipment operation.
- Skills: Ability to follow written recipes, handle basic kitchen math, and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 40-50 lbs periodically, and work safely around hot surfaces and machinery.
- Reliability: Dependable attendance and punctuality to support early morning, mid-day, or evening meal services.
