Accounts Receivable Research Specialist

Pay: $42$52/hour Location: Remote | East Coast Schedule: MondayFriday | East Coast Business Hours Employment Type: Full-Time | Contract

About the Opportunity

Eastridge Workforce Solutions is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Research Specialist for a fully remote contract opportunity supporting East Coast operations. This role focuses on researching payment discrepancies, resolving unapplied cash and overpayments, processing refunds, and supporting high-volume cash receipts. Experience within a law firm, banking environment, or professional services organization is highly preferred.

What You'll Do

• Research client overpayments, unapplied cash, unidentified payments, and vendor credits.
• Investigate payment discrepancies and determine proper account application.
• Process client and vendor refunds, reallocations, and corrections.
• Assist with EFT information and trust transfer requests.
• Partner with Trust and General Ledger teams on reconciliation issues.
• Research and correct cash posting discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate documentation and audit trails.
• Prepare weekly overpayment and unapplied cash reports.
• Communicate with internal teams and clients to resolve payment issues.
• Provide backup support for high-volume cash receipt processing.

Cash Receipts

• Process and reconcile multiple payment types, including:
• ACH and wire transfers
• Lockbox payments
• Remote-scan checks
• Credit card payments
• Cash and foreign payments

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of Accounts Receivable, cash applications, cash receipts, or related accounting experience preferred.
• Experience researching unapplied cash, overpayments, payment discrepancies, and reconciliations.
• Experience with ACH, wires, lockbox, checks, and credit card payments.
• Strong Excel and financial systems skills.
• Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation.
• Law firm, banking, or professional services experience highly preferred.
• Ability to work East Coast business hours.
