Quality Engineer III - Molding

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quality Engineer III to join our team. This role will provide comprehensive quality assurance support to our manufacturing operations, focusing on the definition, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality-related practices. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in technical guidance and measurement methodologies, ensuring the highest standards of quality for precision components and assemblies in the medical device industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide quality engineering support for manufacturing processes and project management initiatives.
• Develop inspection requirements, facilitate PFMEAs, resolve discrepant material issues, and maintain quality documentation such as control plans and inspection plans.
• Analyze manufacturing data to identify opportunities for improvement and implement corrective actions.
• Serve as the quality interface for production teams, responding to customer complaints through failure analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and trend analysis.
• Conduct internal audits, manage audit findings, generate reports, and determine appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
• Coach and mentor Quality Engineers at levels I and II, fostering their professional development.
• Act as a subject matter expert in one or more areas of the ASQ Quality Engineer Body of Knowledge.
• Lead and participate in significant company projects, providing expert quality recommendations.
• Support Quality Inspectors to ensure inspection plans align with customer product requirements.
• Assist with the validation of processes, equipment, and metrology.
• Create validation protocols and analyze associated data.
• Ensure the proper implementation, maintenance, and functioning of business systems.
• Support and comply with the company Quality System, ISO standards, and medical device regulations.
• Partner effectively with other business segments including sales, marketing, customer service, engineering, quality, and finance.
• Understand customer needs and the core business markets served.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or another Engineering Science.

Experience

• Experience operating and training on a variety of inspection equipment.
• Experience in a machining or manufacturing setting.
• Knowledge of quality systems, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.

Skills

• Advanced knowledge of blueprint reading and GD&T.
• Statistical expertise with DOE and Capability Studies.
• Proficiency in Minitab.
• Process management experience.
• Experience with ERP and quality systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher).
• Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask.
