Financial Analyst

The Financial Analyst (Contractor) supports the Finance and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function by assisting with financial reporting, expense management, purchase order administration, and month-end close activities. This role helps ensure the accurate recording, classification, and reporting of organizational expenditures while partnering with finance, accounting, and business stakeholders to support financial operations and reporting requirements. Key Responsibilities Financial Operations and Expense Management Review purchase requisition submissions to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with established policies and procedures. Partner with Finance and Accounting teams to determine appropriate accounting treatment and expense classification. Enter and maintain purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and related changes within financial systems. Coordinate with business stakeholders to document and record the receipt of goods and services. Monitor and maintain purchasing records to ensure data integrity and accurate financial reporting. Assist in tracking expenditures and supporting budget management activities. Financial Analysis and Reporting Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities as needed. Prepare and analyze financial reports to support business decision-making. Assist with expense reviews, accrual tracking, and variance analysis. Generate ad hoc reports and provide financial data to stakeholders upon request. Month-End Close Support Perform month-end financial system close activities. Review accrual balances and assist with the preparation of month-end adjustments. Support reconciliation processes and ensure timely completion of reporting requirements. Collaborate with Finance and Accounting teams to resolve discrepancies and maintain reporting accuracy. Process Improvement and Collaboration Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency. Work cross-functionally with Finance, Accounting, Procurement, and business partners to support financial operations. Maintain documentation of financial processes and procedures. Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and organizational guidelines. Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Experience Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, or a related finance function. Experience supporting financial operations in a corporate or professional business environment preferred. Familiarity with purchasing, procurement, and expense management processes is preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting concepts. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred. Experience working with financial, accounting, procurement, or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems preferred. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
