Cascade is a nonprofit community health center that has served Lewis County and the surrounding communities for 60 years. With five locations throughout Lewis County, Washington, we provide a wide range of services designed to meet the needs of our clients and community.

Position Summary

This position is vital in delivering comprehensive care, focusing on the administration and documentation of medication, transcribing provider orders, and performing continuous assessments. This role records detailed data on behavioral and physical health, including substance use history, and accurately documenting observed behaviors and interventions.

Location and Schedule

• Location: 3510 Steelhammer Ln Centralia, WA 98531
• Position: Hourly, Non-Exempt
• Shifts Available:
  • Sunday - Wednesday 10:00am - 10:30pm
  • Thursday - Saturday 10:00am - 10:30pm

Pay Range

$24.60 - $30.00/DOE.

Shift Differential

This position is eligible for $2/hour shift differential for eligible hours on Swing an NOC shifts and hours worked on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.

What You'll Bring

1. Washington State Department of Health Certified Medical Assistant credential is required,
2. BLS Certificate required.
3. Must be able to pass WA State Patrol background check at hire and annually thereafter. National background check if have not lived in WA State consecutively the last 3 years.
4. Must be physically able to pass violence prevention training and perform MOAB techniques.
5. Must demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team.
6. Must be able to represent the agency in a positive and professional manner.
7. Must be able to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.

What You'll Do

1. Help collect patient demographics, Insurance information and other data needed to create client accounts.
2. Contribute data for the nursing assessment, ongoing re-assessment, and health history under the direct supervision of an RN.
3. Collaborate with the RN on the individual's care plan, reporting pertinent information such as blood glucose levels and breathalyzer results.
4. Transcribe provider orders and administer medications as prescribed.
5. Coordinate with individuals to sign medication consent forms.
6. Perform chart checks, sign off as a secondary verifier for prescribed medications, and ensure accurate medication reconciliation and storage.
7. Draw labs and provide wound care as ordered by providers.
8. Accurately record all medications brought in by individuals.
9. Assist treatment team in managing the milieu and gathering information related to psychopharmacological and physiological needs.
10. Provide education on physical health, psychiatric diagnoses, treatment options, and psychopharmacology to individuals, their families, and others involved in their care.
11. Use appropriate verbal interventions to defuse potentially dangerous or out-of-control behaviors in both youth and adult populations.
12. Demonstrate proficiency in therapeutic intervention techniques, with a clear understanding of safety-related roles and responsibilities.
13. Administer emergency medications as ordered during seclusion/restraint processes.

• License and certification reimbursement: Cascade reimburses the cost of required Department of Health license renewals and other job-related certifications, such as DEA registration and CPR/BLS certification.
