Position: Assistant General Manager
Salary Range: $70 - $75k (base salary) based on experience
Location: Maison Nico Bakery, San Anselmo
Reporting to: General Manager, San Anselmo

This is a multifaceted, challenging role for an experienced hospitality professional who loves food and people and wants to be a part of growing a successful business in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Maison Nico is a French-inspired market and café open for coffee and viennoiserie, Parisian-style pastries, sophisticated French pâtés and terrines, wine and more. After only four years in operation, Maison Nico is consistently recognized as one of the best, winning the “best croissant” competition and listed as a top bakery by Eater, the SF Chronicle, and San Francisco Magazine. With its dual specializations in sweet and savory, Maison Nico is able to appeal to a broad audience and has been recognized for its pâté en croûte by publications such as the New York Times and New York Times Magazine. Maison Nico is family owned and operated by Andrea and Nicolas Delaroque who can still be found in the kitchen everyday.

Key Job Duties:
In this role, you will be assisting the General Manager in managing the front of house operations of Maison Nico Bakery in San Anselmo as well as overseeing retail, dry and paper good inventory and ordering, brand integrity, and building a culture of warmth and professionalism. You have strong organizational skills, are a clear communicator, and are skilled at implementing systems and company policies. You will have a team of 10-12 employees and will report to the General Manager. The ideal candidate will possess an entrepreneurial mentality. This role will play an integral part in planning and executing store activations. • Support and Lead the FOH
• Lead by example on the floor, creating a positive team culture built on camaraderie, mutual respect, and strong morale. We believe that when our team enjoys coming to work, that positive energy is reflected in every guest interaction.
• Service & Hospitality
• Maintain Maison Nico standards of gracious, thoughtful, and knowledgeable hospitality.
• Be present and engaged on the floor during service, anticipating the needs of guests and team members and addressing issues with professionalism and discretion.
• Handle guest questions, concerns, and service recovery with warmth, sound judgment, and a solutions-oriented approach.
• Training & Development
• Reinforce ongoing training in hospitality, service standards, product knowledge, wine, coffee, and product.
• Help identify opportunities for continued education and development within the FOH team.
• Lead by example and ensure that Maison Nico’s standards are consistently reflected in daily service.
• Retail & Daily Operations
• Support the day-to-day operation of the retail space, ensuring products are properly displayed, the space is clean and inviting, and food safety standards are maintained.
