We are comprised of a 25-bed critical access hospital and offer a range of services in Fort Bragg. With whale watching, fishing, hiking trails and many more outdoor adventures readily available, this coastal region is a place to immerse yourself in its landscape and history.Job Summary:Provides emergency care in the pre-hospital environment. Provides advanced-level medical care including evaluation, treatment and stabilization to the ill and injured. Has a comprehensive knowledge base and is able to diagnose and provide care for a broad range of medical emergencies. Responds to calls for emergency medical assistance, such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) or bandaging a wound. Assesses a patient's condition and determine a course of treatment. Provides first-aid treatment or life support care to sick or injured patients according to acceptable medical practice standards. This position is represented by UFCW.Job Requirements:Education and Work Experience:High School Education/GED or equivalent: RequiredAssociate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: PreferredThree years' full time experience in a 911 system: PreferredLicenses/Certifications:Paramedic license in state of practice: RequiredBasic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association: RequiredAHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification: RequiredEmergency Vehicle Operator Certification (EVOC) or equivalent: PreferredValid Driver's License (DL) and must be at least 21 yrs of age or older: RequiredFacility Specific License/Certifications:Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: RequiredAdvanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: RequiredCalifornia DMV Medical Examiner (DMVME): RequiredPediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: RequiredCertified Ambulance Driver (CAD): RequiredEssential Functions:Provides individualized care plan for patient presentation according to acceptable medical practice standards, issued standing orders, on-line medical control and department policies and procedures.Provides emergency care in the pre-hospital environment.Provides fundamental components of patient comfort, safety, privacy and respect within the perioperative setting. Identifies and develops areas of expertise within the surgical specialties.Conducts emergency medical classes as requested by department manager.Administers oral and intravenous medications.
