RN - PCU

Registered Nurse - Stepdown/PCU

This is a 13-week contract position.

12-hour day shifts with weekends as scheduled.

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) with specialty experience in Stepdown and Progressive Care Unit (PCU). The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and be comfortable providing care to cardiac patients with varying acuity levels.

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive care and monitoring for patients with cardiac conditions.
• Administer medications and titrate drips as needed, including cardizem, amiodarone, nitroglycerin, heparin, dopamine, dobutamine, and angiomax.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team, including charge nurses and respiratory therapists, to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Assist nursing aids with daily living activities (ADLs), vital signs, bathing, toileting, feeding, and repositioning.
• Interpret telemetry readings and print EKG strips when necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Stepdown/PCU.
• Valid RN license in the state of practice.
• Current certifications in BLS and ACLS.
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and administration of cardiac drips.
