CNO Financial Group is hiring a Commissions Specialist who is responsible for administering and supporting BLS/BLAS compensation and billing processes, ensuring accurate and timely calculation, adjustment, validation, reporting, and payment of advisor and producer compensation. This role executes and oversees recurring and ad hoc compensation and billing activities, performs audits, reconciliations, data analysis, and issue resolution, and maintains the integrity of compensation-related data and systems. The position collaborates with internal stakeholders, vendors, and business partners to support operational, audit, compliance, and reporting requirements while identifying opportunities for process improvement. Through effective compensation administration and problem resolution, the Commissions Specialist helps ensure the accuracy, efficiency, and integrity of BLS/BLAS compensation and billing operations.

Core responsibilities and deliverables:

• Manage recurring and ad hoc compensation adjustments, including tracking, loading, reconciliation, and oversight of all adjustment processes.
• Execute and oversee compensation processing activities, including monthly/quarterly compensation calculations, pay cycle pre-run tasks, failed payment resolution, and void/reissue transactions.
• Research, analyze, and resolve compensation inquiries, discrepancies, anomalies, and correction requests to ensure accurate and timely payments.
• Perform audits and data validation activities, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of compensation data, and support internal, external, and ad hoc audit requests.
• Identify compensation process and data integrity gaps, and develop tools, controls, and solutions to improve accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
• Support and collaborate on Compensation Department initiatives and cross-functional projects with internal stakeholders, regulators, and external vendors.
• Troubleshoot compensation-related system issues (BLS, BLAS, CNO systems) and provide departmental backup support as needed.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data validation, reconciliation, and data analysis), as well as Outlook, Teams, and Word.
• Experience with compensation, financial, and advisory systems, including Xtiva/PureFacts, Envestnet, NetX360, or comparable platforms used for compensation administration and payment processing.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to research discrepancies, perform root-cause analysis, resolve complex compensation issues, and recommend process improvements.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to data integrity, including experience with audits, reconciliations, data validation, quality controls, and accurate recordkeeping.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate and build relationships with internal business partners, auditors, regulators, vendors, and other stakeholders.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to independently manage multiple priorities, recurring deadlines, ad hoc requests, and project deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, while supporting cross-functional initiatives, system troubleshooting, operational excellence, and continuous process improvement.
  
  

What you need:

• High School diploma or equivalent GED in general studies.
• 4 years of professional work experience with a Broker Dealer and/or Registered Investment Advisor.

• Associate degree or equivalent 4 years of experience in general studies.
• Active Certifications/Licenses: Series 6, Series 7
• 5 years of professional work experience with a Broker Dealer and/or Registered Investment Advisor.
