Patient Services Specialist Location: Glendora, CA Pay: $21‑23/hour Work Environment: Busy outpatient physical therapy clinic with a high-volume, patient-facing front desk. Business casual dress code. Fully on-site role. This role is responsible for managing front desk operations, supporting patient scheduling, verifying insurance, and ensuring a positive patient experience from check‑in through check‑out. Key Responsibilities Greet patients warmly with professionalism and positive communication; Register new patients and guide them through onboarding paperwork; Verify insurance benefits and obtain authorizations; Collect co‑pays and manage financial interactions; Schedule, confirm, and follow up on patient appointments; Answer phones, manage voicemails, and address patient inquiries; Maintain accurate patient demographics in EMR systems; Support end‑of‑day reconciliation and ensure accurate charge entry; Deliver excellent customer service both in‑person and over the phone. Required Skills & Experience Minimum 1+ year of experience in a medical front desk or healthcare setting; Experience with insurance verification and authorization processes; Strong multitasking skills in a fast‑paced environment; Excellent communication and customer service skills; Strong computer proficiency and comfort working in EMR systems. Top Skills – Must Haves Medical front desk experience; Customer service in a high‑volume environment; Insurance verification & authorizations; Patient scheduling and check‑in/out; Co‑pay collection; EMR systems experience. Nice to Have Skills Bilingual Spanish/English; Experience in outpatient or physical therapy clinics; Familiarity with Therapy Source or Rehab Toolkit. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Glendora, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.
