Auto Body Paint Prep Technician

In this role, candidates will prepare vehicle bodies for painting by utilizing power rotary sanders and applying tape to indicate paint colors for the painters. This position offers a great opportunity for individuals to learn the business and advance to paint quality control roles.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare vehicle bodies for painting using power rotary sanders.
• Apply and shape auto body filler to restore surfaces and create a smooth, flawless finish.
• Lay tape and mask vehicles to help ensure precise color application and clean paint lines.
• Buff and sand vehicle surfaces to achieve a high-quality, paint-ready finish.
• Prime surfaces and apply automotive paint while maintaining exceptional quality standards.

Essential Skills:

• Experience in auto body repair and application of body fillers.
• Proficiency in surface preparation techniques, including sanding and buffing.
• Skill in priming and applying automotive paint to achieve high-quality finishes.

Additional Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience in the automotive industry, particularly with vehicle buffing, prepping, and painting.
• Ability to safely and effectively operate power tools, including rotary sanders.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.

Work Environment:

Work during 1st shift from 6am to 4:30pm, Monday through Thursday, with optional overtime on Fridays. The role involves hands-on tasks in a facility equipped with power tools and equipment necessary for auto body preparation. Dress code is casual, suitable for a workshop environment.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Winter Park, FL.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $18.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
