Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Trauma ICU RN with a WI or compact license and at least 2 years of ICU experience for a Level I trauma teaching hospital.
Details
Work in a Trauma ICU setting at a Level I trauma, Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital
Care for critically ill medical, surgical, and trauma ICU patients
Day/Evening shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with potential for 4x12 schedules if desired
Every other weekend required
Required to work Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
Uses Epic EMR system
Floating required as needed
Requirements
Active WI RN license or compact RN license required
Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA only) required
Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required, including Medical, Surgical, and Trauma ICU experience
Must have 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty being applied to
Epic EMR experience required
Trauma Level I hospital experience required
Teaching hospital experience preferred
Must pass a telemetry exam prior to starting, including adult and pediatric rhythm interpretation with strict passing criteria
Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central and PICC line care, and blood product administration
Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, ABG interpretation, and respiratory failure care
Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips, continuous IV sedation, and emergency medications
Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and multisystem organ dysfunction care
Additional Information
Provide critical care nursing to trauma, medical, and surgical ICU patients in a high-acuity academic hospital setting
Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
Holiday coverage required for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
Parking permit required if parking onsite, with additional transportation options available nearby
First-time travelers are not specified as accepted for this assignment
